Feedback, reflection and planning

Copies of written feedback on the previous cycle of teaching practice were provided, along with copies of the video recordings of each lesson. These should be used to inform the reflective journal in your portfolio.

You are reminded to consult the Course Handbook to familiarise yourselves with the requirements for the portfolio.

As detailed in the Assessment Schedule on page 5 of the Course Handbook, you will be assessed on the two 20 / 30-minute lessons, as well as the 60-minute lesson.

The third cycle of teaching practice was scheduled as follows:
21 January - Joanna, Afroditi, Catherine (pages 25 - 27)
28 January - Kathy, Kristo, Jonida (pages 28 - 29)
4 February - Giota, Natassa (pages 30 - 32)

4 February will be the last lesson with the existing teaching practice class, followed by whole-group feedback on 11 February.

The 60-minute lessons are scheduled as follows:
18 February - Joanna, Afroditi, Catherine teaching
25 February - Joanna, Afroditi, Catherine feedback
4 March - Kathy, Kristo, Jonida teaching
11 March - Kathy, Kristo, Jonida feedback
18 March - Giota, Natassa teaching and feedback

25 March is a holiday.

The deadline for submitting portfolios is 6 May.

Group Feedback

Following discussion of the written feedback on the lessons of the past three weeks, we started planning the next cycle of lessons.

In consultation with Mr Petrogiannis, it was decided that it would be more effective for us to continue using Total English 3 instead of switching to Interchange 3. It was confirmed that although nine students are enrolled for the class, usually only 6, or a maximum of 7, actually attend.

We divided unit 2 as the basis for the next three lessons:
Section 2.1 Afroditi, Joanna and Catherine on 3 December
Section 2.2 Kathy, Kristo and Jonida on 10 December
Section 2.3 Natassa and Giota on 17 December.

Each lesson will be a total of 60 minutes, 12 - 1pm. You must be ready at A9 to start promptly at 12.00.

Feedback will then be in A1, 1 - 3 pm.

It was suggested that the next series of lessons will be recorded on video and played back to support the discussion of the feedback.
